good news. lazy afternoons will continue in full effect. so that means more hacks, more fun, more nuttiness. now, usually on lazy afternoons i’m asking you guys something. so let’s get right to it:
how do you beautiful readers feel about podcasting hackaday? we’d take Q&A, discuss subjects, talk about new hacks, interviews, news, etc. I feel like it could be a lot of fun and we could have a lot of interactivity with you the readers and it’d be a lot of fun. so. be sure to comment and let me know what you think about that. because that’s even MORE hackaday fun comin atcha.

the mac mini just got better, bigger, stronger (I love saying that)
now, of course we need an EZ to do hack right for you all right? well yesterday i wrote up a short HOWTO for engadget showing all the DS (or GBA SP) lovers out there how to make a very simple external battery pack (and yes, it’s small and looks nice). the pack isn’t for another 8 hours of gaming, but rather as a backup battery. if your DS is about to die and you have another level to go before you beat your game, then this is what will save you from a mid-life crisis because you couldn’t get all the stars in your rehashed copy of super mario 64 (oooh, below the belt).

I dont know if it is a real word but when someone at school said it to me I assumed it meant yes, so…. YES!
that mirror was amazing! if you watch the video you can see more closely how it works, and the only drawbacks i can see is that it’s somewhat noisy and it needs a rather dark enviroment to give off the same effect.
oh, and i’m all for podcasting
podcasts would be great. as long as it is in a standard format such as .mp3… none of this .ogg or .flac nonsense i’ve seen some of them using.

i think a hackaday podcast is a wonderfull idea. i have been a big fan for quite some time. while your at it.. could you possibly change your header and get rid of the “betta” i think you have a large enough fanbase. :)

Wow, quite the “hack” there for the DS charger.
Unless the printed directions are different then what you actually did, may I ask how you failed to notice that the charge light didn’t go on when you plugged the battery pack in…since it does nothing?

I vote yes to Podcasting. I have just recently found Hack-A-Day and love it.
that french chap seems to be obessesed with electrolysis ;) I doubt he’s producing anything but hydrogen gas in those experiments

I’m not a big fan of podcasting (i mean, i got my ipod for getting rid of talk shows), but this is a great page (blog-hack-whatever) so maybe it’ll be worth a try. And the forums are a must, you know, it may become a “hack farm” with some luck.

It looks like the podcast will happen since theres a huge interest in it! But a lot of you ask for forums and I have to say that will not be any forums in the near future at all or such. We’re a blog and part of a blog network. If we got forums, engadget, tvsquad, autoblog, etc would all have to get forums too. so, hope that can fill you in on forums for now. but hey, podcasts are like live forums! send in your questions, comments, links, etc! The more content, the longer the podcast! Thanks guys for reading and keep commenting!

How many hours does the battery last?
Great site — I strongly encourage you to do a podcast. Other Podcasters do a visual description of pictures and refer people to their blog or feed for the actual pic. You may want to consider talking about what impact the hack might have (or what it would do) and answer questions instead of step-by-step instructions.
