Hackaday Links

Links

i’ve been into louis xiv lately. they’re really goofy. this is also goofy and symbolizes probably the slowest day in news history ever.

and have you guys noticed that windows xp n (dumbest name ever) isn’t selling for crap? tsk tsk.

WoW apparently has an unfinished area that’s accessible. i always liked finding things like this in video games (::cough:: halo 2). [jon]

google maps also apparently can be hacked to show the casualties of the iraq war. pretty interesting how it’s done (don’t give me political crap in the comments, the only politics i want right now are red and blue jello duking it out for my tasting pleasure)

yet another phone being hacked into a cellphone. this one has fischerspooner so you gotta see it.
thanks [cosmicwimpout]

south africa has a tv show based on open source. odd, but cool. check it out.

lastly, if you haven’t checked out our new blog Download Squad yet, you should. I’ll be hitting you all up with mostly mac and linux goodies.

Oh and iTunes 4.9 w/ Podcasting support came out today. We should have an RSS feed for our podcasts in a few days. So I’ll be sure to let you all know!

  1. That WoW link is dead as of now, I wonder which unfinished area he found, there are plenty. This guy has a video out called exploring worlds that shows pretty much all of them.

  2. I live near LA, and was actually backstage for a Louis XIV show. My friend’s band The Colour (www.thecolour.tv) opened for them, they both rocked pretty hard and the venue (The Galaxy) was pretty sweet too.

  3. Remember though, that 1728 people are only the ones that have died inside iraq because of the war.

Some 7000 have died because of the war, but were not inside iraq at the time of death.

  4. Zelda was a great game. I loved the first nintendo with Super Mario Brothers / Duck Hunt. Everyone cheated in Duck Hunt…haha. 007 Goldeneye for N64 was great as well. And up to present…Fable for Xbox is so realistic! BTW I could always use a bag of cd’s!

  5. I sat next to tristan perich at new york’s brooklyn academy of music. he had his amazing phone. i spoke to him about it. he was showing some files on his laptop to his friend, and i peered over and saw his name on the hd. then i remembered to go to his website, which i’d put in my phone, about a month later. then i sent him an e-mail. and now he’s here.

    wow

  6. Well, actually, all of them are my friends. I knew one of them from my old college (and their manager), and just got to know the rest of them. They are really cool down to earth guys, I always love hanging out with them, either at the show backstage or otherwise.

They’re on the same label as “the killers” in the UK, have been featured on itunes, toured in the uk with “the bravery”, among other stuff.

If you like their stuff, make sure to check them out at myspace.com/thecolour . Glad you like them ;)
