I think by modular they actually mean that unit itself can be split into parts, this is just one module that will connect to more, remember seeing something likethis as a concept somewhere.

Sorry but the design does not seem modular enough to call it modular. DStAmand has done a great job designing the whole device but you can’t call it modular because it can change number of channel modules (the one shown on the image).
