This isn’t overly complicated at all. This is how all computers used to be made. Fifteen years ago this is what they taught in schools. It’s a step backwards for sure, when you can buy a digital watch for $1, but the satisfaction of building an entire computer from the ground up is irreplaceable. It’s only being used as a clock here, but the possibilities are endless.

Its like reliving the not-so-distant past. Building something like this is a wonderful exercise in not forgetting the foundations of digital logic. If I had more time, I’d have the students put one of Len’s designs together. Kudos!
