using an xbox controller, a small lcd screen (found at compusa for under $20) you can control the media center pc, for example–change songs, pause, change volume etc

How does the XBOX controller plug into the PC? Is there a USB convertor or something or do you just have to buy a bunch of XBOX controller extenders to get it from your PC to whereever you need to control it from.
