UPDATE: I’m working on making the visual style fit better. It really needs some work.
Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, we’re finally taking the plunge into a more robust commenting system. This one has a ton of features, but the following few have been asked for quite frequently.
- You can now edit your comments. Yes, finally. No seriously, try it. To do this, you’ll need to log in though!
- Subscription to a comment thread is now optional. Horay!
- You can now “Like” or dislike comments.
IntenseDebate is converting our old comments over, so they should begin to appear soon. Please feel free to email me directly[caleb@] with any issue you encounter using the new system. I know you’ve been asking for it for a very long time, I’ll do my best to make sure that it goes as smoothly as possible.
No, please no.
This sucks!
Okay, so how do I edit that?
Well played.
So where is that like/dislike?
Disable all protection and allow scripts from everybody and you get your silly likes/dislikes.
(Oh and while I’m commenting and as an addition to my previous bitching: it also takes a long time before the comments finally show up.)
Something’s screwey here, on FireFox (with lots of blockers and web crap removal addons/scripts) I get this old view, but with plain IE I get the new discussion format, which I don’t like, looks ugly.
I dont see any difference?
Please make sure that comments can be posted *without* Javascript.
You get this comment section if you have the scripts from wordpress and intense debate blocked. If you enable them, the new section comes up.
Yeah I just looked into things a little and found the anti-tracking addon Ghostery blocks Intense Debate by default.
That’s not a bug – it’s a FEATURE :)
:)
Oh…… i see… the comments have been segmented between those who accept the new scripts/tracking cookies and those who do not.
:-/
Nice, so we are the exclusive elite now.
Also, Android phone that runs script but the connection takes too long ends up here.
Yep, us vs them, and we win :)
Look like you get this old version if using the default android browser too
I’m pretty sure when enough people will enable escripting HAD will disable the old commenting system. That day is the day I’m leaving HAD.
