I think the link-roundup posts are fine in with the regular hack-a-days. Breaking up the regular flow can be a good thing. Plus it’s like getting a bunch of hacks all at once, instead of just the usual one per day.
Perhaps you could appease the endless negative viewpoints by adding a small amount of editorial comment around each link, and formatting the annotated list as a paragraph or two, boingboing or slashdot style.
WTF, i did the ignition thing 2 years ago!!!! and I don’t have a link or anything. http://metku.net/modgallery/detail.php?id=319 (proof)
you just use one of the lock switches and wire it to the power button (in my case, I wired it right to the pushbutton switch, which was broken)
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen computers that came with key switches (in addition to a power button) a loooong time ago. All I can say is that the case would also have to be closed with security screws or pop rivets because I’d just open the side and tap the power pins with a screwdriver. I’ve seen computers locked down with bios passwords and giant thumbscrews in the back. Hello cmos battery.
