$125 Off The Evalbot Is A Steal

When you see $125 off something you probably assume it cost several times that to start with. Nope, this drastic discount leaves just $25 plus shipping. Use coupon-code: 2JLP-R4XRT3 when ordering the little rover. There’s a quick video snippet of it embedded after the break.

What you’ll get is a Stellaris ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller on a board with a bunch of goodies.

  • MicroSD slot
  • USB host and device connectors
  • I2C audio with speakers
  • Ethernet connector
  • 96×6 OLED display
  • Motors
  • Optosensors
  • Bump detectors

As always, we want to hear about the hacks you come up with once you have this little guy in hand.

[update, the code is now expired]

[final update — Someone from TI explains what is going on.]

—-  from the comments.

As some posts already note, the coupon code is only available to ESC Boston attendees. That said, we’re psyched about all of your interest and understand there seems to have been some confusion, so TI plans to fulfill all of the finalized orders to date. We’re working on some logistics in getting the code up and running again for ESC Boston attendees, but proof of ESC registration will be required. Stay tuned.

We hear you about the e-store and are working as quickly as possible to avoid issues in the future. Thanks for your patience.

Bottom line – we’re glad to see the excitement around EVALBOT and look forward to checking out your projects! We encourage you to share them on our e2e Forums at http://e2e.ti.com/

  1. My order has just been accepted and 25.00 USD have just been taken from my credit card.
One unit is coming in Italy for 25.00 shipping included. I’m very happy.
Mant thanks to Texas Instruments and Hackaday!

    Vito.

  2. Got my order to go through about an hour ago, so looks like it’s still going :)

Customs popup for the UK was a pain though, if you’re going to see an ajax call die in an ugly way it’s invariably going to be ASP on the other end.

What did people say their end application was? I plumped for consumer robot.

  3. If you got in on the deal then go to:
    http://micrium.com/page/home

    Click the download link.
You will need to register and use an email address that is NOT gmail, yahoo, etc. Those are not accepted.

After registration click on companion book downloads. The very last one is the one you want.
It contains all the pdf files for the bot, including datasheets and the necessary files for IAR embedded.

  4. Wow, TI’s store is a mess… keeps doing weird stuff :)

I ended up trying multiple times and it’s currently throwing a column not found exception.. But even though it never showed the order confirmation screen, I did receive the confirmation email…. *fingers crossed*

  5. FYI: TI.COM is still taking orders (13:00 GMT). But it is a very painful experience. I think, if there is more then one server, at least one of them has bombed out. I suggest retrying several times (assuming there is a working server in the mix). Took me about 30 minutes to make it through.

  7. u can safely ignore the bot detected warning. the server is just detecting the TI arm of skynet ;)

anyone else notice that the site layout was different after the bot warning?

order number 5704 -> 7054 = 1350+ orders from HaD lol best post ever! no safety issues, no spelling problems, no trolls and (almost) free stuff <=D u have set a new standard for HaD posts

with all the HaDs ordering this i dont think that it will be long before a Linux os is running…

i want to add a scripting language (probably need more ram) then just plug in a usb keyboard…
