Movies On An Ipod Photo
here’s the ipod-photo-movie-hack that is making the rounds. some of you sent some emails when it appeared on g4tech tv’s the screensavers as well as a couple other places like /. it’s nothing spectacular, just exporting a lot of images from a movie and importing them back in. old trick, all the way from the newton days. you can of course get a real portable video player like an iriver. any way, at the end of the article is some stuff i’m working on with goggles + the ipod photo.
Powerpoint On Ipods And Portable Media Centers
there’s a new tool (for macs) that will export powerpoint, pdfs and keynote slides for use on the ipod photo, $18 or you can use my how-to to do the same. an ipod photo, portable media center or any device that plays photos will do. might be a good way to get the boss to let you expense one of these. in the how-to i pump the images out to a headset display, which is part of a cool project that’ll i’ll post about later.

Ipod Photo Diagnostic Mode
so i picked up an ipod photo so i can write some articles and hacks with it (see the sacrifices i make!)–wait until ya’ll see what i’ve got cookin. any way, i’m a little bummed that the ipod remote doesn’t actually advance, play or pause the photo slideshows, but pressing the buttons on the ipod does. so, i’m starting to hack around to see what i can come up with. here’s something i found that might be useful for other things, the ipod photo diagnostic mode which allows you to test a few things, we also posted up the ipod remote data earlier.
Ipod Altoids Battery Pack V2
a few of your instant messaged me the latest in powering your ipod with an external battery pack. this example, which is now making the rounds around the web is made out of an altoids case, 2 9v batteries, 2 AA batteries and a FireWire connector, adding about 10 hours of extra play–good for that international flight you’d likely miss when the man sees this in your bag.
Brushed Metal Ipod
my 3g ipod is officially scratched up, ipods are great–but only meant to be viewed behind glass and perhaps with white gloves if you need to touch it. so, i was thinking of painting the whole thing black, bono style, but i think i’ll make it look brushed metaly. here’s a site that shows how.
and just a site update, we now have categories–so, for example, you can go to or click ipod.hackaday.com and see all our ipod hacks.
Change The Color Of The Ipod Screen
with some colored transparency film, an exacto knife and throwing caution to the wind, you can make your ipod screen just about any color.
UPDATE: The link is dead, but we’re looking high and low for the correct one.
