That F-14 model is awesome!
i agree with #1
On the first link: From what I understand Team Xecuter announced yesterday that the info posted is false. teamxecuter.com is down for ‘Maintenance’ right now but a copy of the post is here: psp-hacks.com/2005/07/07/clarification-from-team-xecuter/
Xecuter thought their statements were clearer than they actually are (das has it pretty much verbatim). Has Xecuter been able to change firmware at will? YES. Are they going to let you do it with this device? NO.
That ethernet LED hack… first off, I love it. Second, is this:
http://homepage.mac.com/pillowcase1/PhotoAlbum51.html
from the same guy? I’m out of time, gotta go to work, otherwise I’d check. Either way, that’s a kick-ass site, lots of fun stuff.
That f-14 IS incredible.
wonder how much money it cost to build?
Perhaps I shouldn’t have said ‘false’… Misleading is a better word. The follow-up post just sheds some more light on the subject and clarifies the role behind the device pictured. And if Xecuter is indeed right – and a software kernal patch is coming then that’s the day I go out and get a PSP.
My god !
The f-14 is incredible. I’d love to see how it is built, especially the engines, and what is its’ maximal speed…
seeing this, i was thinking how cool it would be if someone were to do a hack that allowed flight control via an actual ‘cockpit’, complete with joystick, rudders, etc.
cameras mounted in the cockpit of the plane would show the actual view from the plane via monitor in the control cockpit.
how fun would that be??!
the tracking url for hurricane dennis is weird doesnt let go into the site it gives me a pop up operation aborted…
The F-14 rocks and I’d have to go with Keith on the flight control system, that would be the nuts.
I did the network LED mod a few years back, you can find the mod posted on this hardware mod site.

I did some research for home made RC Choppers and cam up with http://www.angelfire.com/blues/heli_project/ I was wondering if starting from here, how hard would it be to turn it into a basic apache but maybe you would need to look into petrol (Gas for americans) power for the added weight that an Apache model would bring (maybe, not sure to be honest). What do you think?

“down or upgrade your PSP firmware”… Damn… read the thing guys: the team xecuter mod won’t allow firmware changing, it was jsut a capability they discovered while developing it… and the info that was released wasn’t false (whatever ass posted that) – it was just taken the wrong way, like this posting about it, and becuase of that they won’t be releasing updates anymore, just products ;). They say software will be released soon to allow you to downgrade – the purpose of this product will be for storage, and will be much smaller than pictured. Team xecuter p0wns.
That steering wheel thing is awesome. I’m definitely gonna add that to my arcade cabinet…
cut a hole on the lid of the card board chair and line the inside with a garbage bag….and you got yourself a porta-potty. now for me to wash my mouth out with soap.
