I hope you included a big high value resistor (similar to an antistatic “Zap Strap”), it will help dump the charge from your nylon underwear a little less painfully, and if there is a problem with that socket, we wouln’t want 240V AC up yout coatstand now would we.
The large resistor in a wrist strap is to prevent shock from mains when working inside a piece of gear.
It would still be a good idea here.
I would terminate the connecting wire to a full size mains plug, so that no helpful people can plug the coat rack into active.
