I’ve never got a clean start to a print without a skirt, a single line printed beforehand around the first layer of the part to prime the nozzle and have it in the ‘perfect’ state to start the print, otherwise the plastic oozing out of the nozzle not being primed means the first layer is poor.
Without printing a wall the same height as the part around the part (or having some kind of ‘prime’ tower I dont see how youd get good prints. But that’s wasteful and will make the print take much longer!
