Hackaday takes over London at the end of this week. Join us on Friday night as we host a meetup at the Marquis Cornwallis, a pub in Bloomsbury.
This is a Bring-a-Hack style meetup, so grab something you’ve been working on to get the conversation flowing as you enjoy food and drink with members of the Hackaday community from the area. Also on hand from the Hackaday Crew will be [Mike Szczys], [Elliot Williams], [Jenny List], [Pedro Umbelino], and [Adil Malik]. We’re consistently delighted by the many and varied projects that show up — we want to meet you and hear about your project no matter how trivial, or involved. We do suggest you bring something handheld though, as tabletop space will be limited.
We’ve rented the upper floor of the pub and ordered food and fine beverages for all who attend. This is possible thanks to the support of DesignSpark, the exclusive sponsor of the Hackaday UK Unconference.
Tickets for that event have been sold out for ages now, so we’re glad to host a meetup to involve more of the UK Hackaday community. There are still a few left for this Friday Meetup so claim your free ticket now!
when are you guys coming to Northern Ireland?
great, I’m coming. Not sure what to bring yet, cause my latest hacks have been more like “makings”, and ones that can’t be carried around.
I wish I could get there both for this and the Hackaday conference…London is a bit of a trek and certainly not easy to get to on a Friday night in rush hour traffic from the North West!
Heh, I work (just) within the M25 and don’t consider central London a place that I can get to after work
Glad it’s not just me then! I’d get the train but such a journey is so darn costly it’s cheaper to drive!
when are you coming to northern Ireland??? plenty of people would appreciate it
Yeah, let’s have the next one in Bristol or Birmingham please
If we’re going that far, we might as well take it all the way. We’re eventually doing a Portmeirion meetup.
The Portmeirion meetup will be one in the ‘Hackaday meetups in the middle of nowhere’ series that includes:
The childhood home of the first gay president (a ton of people showed up)
The grave site of James T. Kirk (successful, even though it was 125 degrees)
Spillville, Iowa (haven’t done this yet)
Napoleon’s house on St. Helena (surprisingly convenient for the UK folks)
“a ton of people showed up”
Metric ton, short ton, long ton?
8 people each weighing about 250#?
Portmeirion would be such a great venue. It is the home of an incredibly surreal uninhabited village that could be hired for the event. It’s such a bizarre place and has been used for various film shoots including dr who
