Hackaday Links

As you read this I’m probably riding a turboprop to Amarillo, but never fear links are here.

I’m kind of surprised by yesterday’s poll; Emacs is getting thoroughly trounced. I’m a fan of vi, but that’s mainly because I can type and never got into the whole “ctrl+meta+wang” thing. Emacs does have the capabilities of doing almost everything that isn’t text editing.

  1. Heretic for DS? Awesome! I hated the DS for being a tad unwieldly to hold, but I have to agree that the twin screens do well with FPS. On the subject of the Apple DRM piece…did you even read the article, Eliot? I could understand you making comments like that if you had read Cory Doctorow’s article, but Jon Gruber’s critique completely made sense. There’s no evidence that Apple intends to use TPM in thier production units. It seemed that they were only using it to keep OS X running on the distributed developers units instead of being pirated and used on other hardware. HOWEVER, an article posted four days earlier and reported on by Slashdot the same day tells us that the TPM chip wasn’t even included. http://www.ofb.biz/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=380&mode=&order=0&thold=0
