1. That’s maybe 25% of the total We really need it; even though there’s a boiler room the actual boiler is out of order (and would be way too expensive to run anyway). So there’s a wood-fired stove in the lounge, with its heat-exchanger plumbed into the central heating system. We’ve restricted the heating to downstairs one side of the building, which it can manage, even on cold nights. Rooms not heated that way have thermostats and electrical heating if they need to stay above freezing.
