[Dan] set up this simple cell phone hack to disable his microphone when he’s not using his cell phone. He had read that the government can listen to you using your cell phone, even when it is off. This concerned him enough to hack into his phone. He removed the expansion port and wired the microphone to a magnetic reed switch. A strong magnet located in the screen side of his flip phone opens the circuit when he closes the phone. He notes that you could always just pop the battery out of your phone, but then you are left completely disconnected. This mod allows you to still receive phone calls.

Its not the GOV who wants to listen, there are some websites and detective agencies to spy on the cheating spouse and business competetors. Its possible and handy for any one to listen your personal discussions or listen to the environment.
Some thing else can be tried with mobile haedset’s mic, instead of opening the mobile phone. the mic in the headset can be destroyed my some means or shorted with wires. Now u can receive the calls ,plugoff u r headset and start talkin on the phone

The linked-to article came out in June 2009, so your cell phone listening in on your life may not be as obscure as some may think. Opting out of anything can be difficult.
This hack seems both simple and functional. Congrats.
To all you people making jokes and speaking about “tin foil hats” fuck you, this is serious and the government IS doing this. You people laughing at this don’t know what is coming for you.
So at least I have found that I am not the only one in this universe who kept a similar board scavenged from a scrap yard (early 90s) for such a long time to find from what machine it came from. I thought (in those days) that maybe it is from some IBM mainframe computer used for aerospace or military purpose.
Jump ahead half a decade… not so paranoid was it? self assured fools.
Look up GANG STALKING, this has nothing to do with typical gang members, i just lived it you will see just how evil shit gets. People thought i was paranoid until i proved it but it took me 2 years because im not a criminal. You have no idea what people can do when they want you gone.
Thats pretty clever trick actually. I would like to see a cell phone manufactured that included physical on/off switches for mic/camera/gps
