key unlocking has been removed for several weeks now.. I guess I am turning off my Tmobile service and getting a smartphone
I hate to break the news to you, but this procedure is dead. I signed up 2 weeks ago, and the key url has been offline since. The procedure has been changed, now in order to get a key you have to apply individually and you application will be reviewed. No more just getting a device key just because you want to install apps. I’m hoping for a hack that gets around this. The published hack actually killed itself. It became too popular. :(
My problem was that I waited to actually get my Sidekick II before I went to sign up for a key….

I don’t know if its the same type of unlock key that T-mobile will give subscribers. Just like they do for other GSM phones.

when using the Aim software in the sidekick 2 hold the button with the 3 stipes going down and press J a creen will pop up that said enter the chat rooms name u wish to enter. and thats how u enter chatrooms on the sidekick 2.
the sidekick 2 has a secrect game hidden inside the programs. to acsess this press the the button that has the 3 stripes and goot to settings then go ABOUT SIDEKICK an screen will appear then hold down the button with the 3 strips then hold down shift then tap #8 and the game comes on. have fun
There’s a way to run a diagnostic program on the sideckick II. Go to menu-sytem info-and press menu+shift+D. The diagnostics checklist will appear and you could either run all of them or individual.

make sure your at the main screen and press the menu button the one the little circles den prss shift and hold down (s) after that the a screen will appear and u can disabel the java erroe message and now u can play java games and much more,

alright check it out the u hit the menu>shift>s and tracer screen pops up den press menu and go through the list and mess around with the programs and the tracers and after that you will come across the java script. once you turn off the java error u can play games. wat i don’t understand is why t-mobile and hip top never told any one about this. and thanks for the props.

I did the jumpbutton+shift+s and then menu again and a menu popped up and it had “other debug tools” in it, when i select that it has java messages only. select that and theres a list of stuff in there but I don’t know what it’s for and I can’t change anything in it. Ok people….the whole java screen(+shift+s) its just a tracers screen….its like a command bar. It tells the commands and stuff you’ve done. You can’t unlock java from it. They only way to do anything on your sk is to get a devkey other than that there’s nothing worth while.
The whole jave removal thing ended up being a bust, I had high hopes bout that, also had my doubt and suspected it was what dicen16 said, … We all obviously want/need the dev key, good luck with that. If and progress plz email me. Thanx in advance

The “light” on the dvice, in the area that says “tmobile”, is a light sensor and cannot be turned on. To turn on the multicolor LED raver light, perfect for giving E-Tards lightshows with (and very useful as a flashlight, with the green light on), from the jump screen go to menu – settings- system info. When in system info, hold down menu+shift+D. This brings up diagnostics tests. Uncheck everything but “flash LED”, then scroll down to the bottom and click on “start tests”. Then, hit the check mark looking button to cycle thru red, green, or blue superbright light. Mmm chik mmm chik Mmm chik mmm chik
