here’s one hack a day pal lars sent in…

there is a reg. key you can edit to enable bluetooth headsets on ipaq.
put 1 insted of 0 in:

HKeyLocalMchineSOFTWAREWidcommBtConfigServices005Enabled=1

and add a DWORD Enabled=1 Enabled=1 to

HKeyLocalMchineSOFTWAREWidcommBtConfigServices006

and also there is a key in softwaremediaplayer that has somthing in the lines of play unsupported=0 (off) enabeling it must do something but i dont know what,but i supose U people could figure it out.

so if you have a bluetooth headset for your phone and have a bluetooth ipaq, there’s a good chance you can use your headset to listen to audio through the headset.

Wifi On Treo 650 Uberhack

okay, maybe i’ll consider the treo 650 now. before, it was extremely disappointing that the wifi drivers weren’t out when the phone shipped, but now thanks the “shadowmite” here’s the hacked up sdio wifi drivers and instructions.

1) Copy the file to a SD card
2) Run the file
3) It will go threw installing some files, followed by a soft reset
4) It will install some more files, and identify itself as T5 Wifi installer
5) It will ask for the Wifi Card

a couple of you dell totin’ pocket pc hackers sent this in–turns out there’s a secret contrast app the you can unlock by editing the registry.

‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEControlPanelContrast’ renaming the “redirect” value to “redirect_” (or rename to something else, or remove it completely). soft reset and go to start > settings > system > contrast and adjust the contrast.

i’m using vonage, the voice over ip service, and it turns out you can get a special type of add-on called a “softphone account” which allows you to use software on a mac, pc, linux computer to make and receive phone calls as well. turns out you can use just about any wi-fi enable pocket pc as phone too.
