Hack An Etch-a-sketch
using an etch-a-sketch is hard, hooking it up to a mouse might seem harder, but in the end, likely more appropriate and accurate. here comes the electr-o-sketch–hack a mouse to control and draw on the classic and ever present etch-a-sketch.
Bluetooth Controlled Rc Cars
i have this rc helicopter that i am thinking of converting to a bluetooth controller, just to see if it’s possible. so after digging around, i found this hack and how-to on outfitting a rc car to run bluetooth and control it with a phone. the site also includes the source code to run on a nokia series 60 bluetooth enabled phone.
Robosapien Pocket Pc
you might have a pocket pc, or can pick one up for under $100 on ebay, with that, along with a robosapien (usually under $100) you’ve got yourself a good hack project. the api (click the read link, bottom of the page) is so the pocket to communicate via ir to the robosapien. should be a lot of fun.
Gps And Director Mx
here’s one for the mac peeps. i’ve received a few emails asking about how to get a gps to work on a mac and then writing a custom interface to display the data. macromedia flash “could” work but director is better at handling and manipulating bitmaps, so that being said–i dug up this example using a garmin eTrex vista and keyspan serial to usb adaptor.
Old School Bluetooth Phone Mod
a couple people sent this one in (thanks)–turn an old looking phone in to a bluetooth headset. in this example from tech tv uses a jabra bluetooth headset and an old fashion phone to make a seriously pointless, yet cool, bluetooth headset.
